Fri., APRIL 7 @ 8PM SPECIAL OPEN MIC GUEST: MARTIN ESPADA
Martin Espada has published thirteen books in all as a poet, editor and translator. His eighth book of poems is called The Republic of Poetry, forthcoming from W.W. Norton. His last collection, Alabanza: New and Selected Poems (1982-2002) was named an American Library Association Notable Book of the year.

Sat. APRIL 15 @ 6AM THE SACRED RUN OF THE FOUR DIRECTIONS
Aztlan Mexica Nation Harmony Circle, other native organizations, and native nations are coming together to encourage the youth to keep our native traditions alive. A sunrise ceremony will take place here at the north direction conducted by the traditional native people (Gabrieleno/Shoshone,and Tataviam), then runners will begin. Runners from all 4 directions will converge at Lincoln Park @ 2pm. Everyone is welcome.

Sat. APRIL 22 @ 4PM AUTHOR READING WITH MARY CASTILLO "In Between Men"

Sat., APRIL 22 @ 7PM LIVE MUSIC: BLUES STRAIGHT UP! & THE OLD SOULS
Blues Straight Up's repertoire features great blues standards with original compositions, plus the band also performs Blues en Español. Old souls are a focused group of pure hearts and minds. Their collective destiny to learn, play, and perform music has quickly shaped this two year old outfit into a true rock and roll entity. Come and enjoy an evening of great Blues Music!

Sat., APRIL 29 @ 12PM FUNDRAISING TRAINING
Lucera Gallegos will be doing a presentation on Bringing Back Philanthropy to Our Communities "A Holistic Approach to Fundraising." It is an inclusive and holistic look at Philanthropy, which actually means "the love of giving."
