“MY SWEET UNCONDITIONAL"

This powerful collection of poetry by ariel robello entitled “My Sweet Unconditional” speaks to the political and personal traumas of our times. With language as radiant and dangerous as broken glass ariel cuts away at the political dogma and superficial beauty of a world unhinged to reveal a bloody but dignified glimpse of love.

Childrens Book Reading & Signing with Rene Colato Lainez
June 16th., Thur., at 6 pm
“I am Rene the Boy” is a bilingual picture book which follows Colato Laínez’s own experiences as a child. This witty story about a young boy’s odyssey to find out the meaning of his name will challenge readers aged 3 to 7 to chart cross-cultural differences by gaining an understanding about themselves and the people around them.

L.A. Commons Art Project Closing Reception
June 25th, Sat., Time: TBA
The L.A. Commons Art Project will look at the relationship between our interconnectedness and our well-being, asking the question, "how, where, when and why do your connections with others in Sylmar contribute to your health. Local artists will facilitate people in a collective examination of this question and in the creation of large-scale public artwork that reflects the answers.

Dos Mujeres/Two Women & Seven BOOK SIGNING & SALE
June 25th., Sat., 3 PM

Introducing 3 limited edition books containing unpublished poems by Luis J. Rodriguez, and designed and hand-bound in an edition of fifty copies each by Matt Cohen and Sher Zabaszkiewicz, C & C Press, at UC Santa Barbara. Imagery was inspired by Aztec Codices, and printed using polymer plates and linoleum cuts. The hand-made paper end sheets are from the poet’s t-shirts, and the printed cover panels showcase the poet’s handwriting.
