Son Jarocho will provide instruction on playing the traditional music style of Veracruz, Mexico. Students will learn how to play the jarana guitar and sing, while learning the historical and current importance of Son Jarocho. This workshop offers a hands-on experience for youth
and adults combining drawing, carving, painting, group
writing, acting, and ensemble performance into a unique
and rare art form – shadow theater. The first
session will be an “informance” (performance
which informs), followed by a 10-week hands on program
and concluding with a grand final performance, where
students will showcase their work accomplished during

Students will begin with breathing and stretching
exercises to help relax and, by filling our own selves,
we can explore the depths of our HUMAN-DIVINE POTENTIAL.
The last 30 minutes will include an open discussion
about personal experiences durring the session.
Equipment/Materials Needed: Every student should bring
a gym towel and athletic clothing.
