		Mexicayotl 101/La Mexicanidad 101 Tuesdays/Martes 8-9:30pm This class is an introduction to collective knowledge and wisdom from the original inhabitants of Mexico and Central America. Donations welcomed, no one turned way for lack of funds. 		Spanish as a Second Language Tuesdays, 7-8pm (Begins July 6th - Ends August 3rd) This is a 5-week course for adults who are serious about learning Spanish as a second language. Instructor Maria Morales will be covering: basic vocabulary, days of the week, months and seasons of the year, counting, intro to conversational Spanish, and gender of nouns. This is a free workshop but donations are encouraged. All supplies will be provided.

		California Native Plants Thursday July 22nd, 6-8pm California native plants bring beauty to our communities, save water, and are home to native animals. In this workshop we will explore the importance of restoring Southern California’s native plants, see examples of several of these plants, and learn how to plant and care for them. Facilitated by Rick Perillo. Donations accepted.

This month’s featurettes include: Alondra Smiles by Conchita Villa, documentary Film Hecho en Paracho, documentary film on the Paseo Boricua Flags of Steel, documentary film Flying w/ Emilio (Caranza) , reality drama, Silent Shame & romance drama, Yveete. Independent film for the independent mind. Film purchases will directly help emerging independent Latino talent.

		Spanish as a Second Language THURSDAY July 9th,16th, 23rd, August 6th, & 13th 7-8pm This is a 5-week course for adults who are serious about learning Spanish as a second language. 		Manitas y Corazon: Introduccion a Jin Shin Jyutsuen en Espanol 29 de Julio 6:30pm-7:30pm En esta clase usted será introducido a un arte antiguo japonés para conectarse a la energía y fuerza de la vida universal. Ayúdese a sentirse mejor aprendiendo como soltar tensiones y bloqueos en los patrones de energía vital del cuerpo. 		The Art and Craft of Shadow Theater Workshop Shadows of Bali Kick off Performance August 8th 2pm Workshop every SATURDAY from August 10th-October 10th 1pm-3pm Culmination SUNDAY October 11th at 2pm This workshop offers a hands-on experience for youth and adults combining drawing, carving, painting, group writing, acting, and ensemble performance into a unique and rare art form – shadow theater. The first session will be an “informance” (performance which informs), followed by a 10-week hands on program and concluding with a grand final performance, where students will showcase their work accomplished during the 12-week program. 		L@s Hij@s de Cuahutemoc Free 6 Week Photography Seminar/Class THURSDAY June 18th-July 23rd 3pm-5pm A free 6-week photography class for teens led by Juan Pacheco will meet weekly and cover various projects and objectives starting on THURSDAY June 18, 2009 3pm-5pm. Class discussions will cover basic understanding of digital camera use, functions and characteristics. Projects will cover self portraits, family portraits, and landscapes; including a photography exhibit at the end of the seminar showcasing the students work. 		Meditation & Ancestral Ecology SUNDAYS 8am-10am Students will begin with breathing and stretching exercises to help relax and, by filling our own selves, we can explore the depths of our HUMAN-DIVINE POTENTIAL. The last 30 minutes will include an open discussion about personal experiences durring the session. Equipment/Materials Needed: Every student should bring a gym towel and athletic clothing. 		Mexican Guitar Guitarra Mexicana SUNDAYS/ DOMINGOS 6pm-8pm Learn the traditional songs of Mexico and a little taste of Latin Anerican songs. Students will have hands on experience tunning, strumming, and singing the musical notes, songs and trends on the legendary corridos, rancheras, sones and huapangos.All materials are provided but a personal classical acoustic guitar is recommended.
