Meditation & Ancestral Ecology

SUNDAYS 8am-10am

Students will begin with breathing and stretching exercises to help relax and, by filling our own selves, we can explore the depths of our HUMAN-DIVINE POTENTIAL. The last 30 minutes will include an open discussion about personal experiences durring the session.

 

Equipment/Materials Needed: Every student should bring a gym towel and athletic clothing.

Nahuatlaka: Ancestral Music/ Musica Ancestral

SUNDAYS/DOMINGOS

Students will enjoy and understand not only the Aztec roots but the Spiritual sounds of mother earth. Students will learn the sounds of rocks, drum, flute, and rattle will give the sense of rhythm and song.

This art workshop will awaken the spirit within by utilizing the arts, acrylics and the principles of mural desing.

Mexican Guitar

Guitarra Mexicana

SUNDAYS/DOMINGOS 6pm-8pm

Learn the traditional songs of Mexico and a little taste of Latin Anerican songs. Students will have hands on experience tunning, strumming, and singing the musical notes, songs and trends on the legendary corridos, rancheras, sones and huapangos.All materials are provided but a personal classical acoustic guitar is recommended.

In a total of 4 hours (2 sessions combined) individuals - especially the kind that think they "can't" write poetry or do art - will defy that conditioned notion and find their inner poet and artist. Attendees will be guided through a series of short writing exercises and meditative wordplay.

Students from intermediate to advanced levels are welcomed. Son Jarocho is a musical tradition descended from of Vera Cruz, Mexico. La jarana is the traditional stringed guitar instrument used in Son Jarocho. Jaranas will be provided for students that do not own one. Workshops are facilitated by Mapache.

From natural birth control using non-hormonal methods to reaching pregnancy naturally to P.M.S. intervention and prevention this workshop will provide simple home remedies and practical fertility awareness information. We will discuss the function and tension within our pelvic floors and how that affects our lives in respects to sexual pleasure, menstruation, and birthgiving. Understanding the Aztec Calendar

This Workshop will lead students toward reading and interpreting the Aztec Calendar; mathematically, scientifically, spiritually and prophetically, including the study of the Tonal Amatl, Tonal Malchiotl, Tonal Pohualli, and the cycles of the Sun, Moon, and Cosmos, which lead to the prophesies. Technical and practical concepts concerning the guitar will be covered. The Fundamentals of Music will be introduced to gain an understanding of the theory and how it can be applied to communicate with others while rehearsing, or performing a song or any piece of music. Students will develop their creativity, confidence, and will learn responsibilities that come during a performance. The objective is that the student will be prepared for a final performance in front of an audience (Singing is optional). But most importantly, the idea is to develop an intimate relationship with your guitar.
